KB Home has been building near R.O. Hardin School along Line Street.

The net property value assessment roll for the county climbed by 8.2 percent in the latest assessment period, the second consecutive year of growth after five consecutive years of declines.
That increase was included in the annual assessor’s report released this week. With the jump, the total assessed value as of Jan. 1 of this year was $6.6 billion including utilities, according to the document.
