Deja vu!

Parking in downtown Hollister has become an issue once again.

The city has adopted an ordinance to curtail the problems of parking in downtown Hollister, without even discussing the matter with Hollister Downtown Association or the business owners. They learned about the decision from the Free Lance headline April 6 just as everyone else did.

We have been through all this before. The city built a huge parking garage. There is no time limit (except that it is locked at night).

Employees of downtown businesses who will be parking for all, or most of the day, should park in the parking garage, leaving the parking lots and street parking spaces for customers. The employees need to remember that without the customers they wouldn’t have jobs! It is not the customer who should have to accommodate the employees! This ordinance will only tie up parking even longer!
