Dagoberto Lopez passed away on November 6th at home after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Guerrero Viejo, Mexico, he moved to Laredo, Texas, at the age of 8. It is there that he met his wife of 43 years, Oralia Garza. They moved to Gilroy in 1964 and have been here ever since. He retired from Gilroy Foods in 2002.
Dagoberto is survived by his wife Oralia, children Luis and Norma and mother Basilisa (Laredo, TX), brother of Sergio (Freedom, CA), Javier (Laredo, TX), Cesar (Corpus Christi, TX), Ariel (Hollister, CA), Calixtro (Chowchilla, CA), Hugo (Freedom, CA), Oscar (Los Banos, CA), Rogelio (Pittsburgh, PA), Mario (Laredo, TX) and Lucy (Laredo, TX).
He is preceded in death by his father Luis and infant brother Calixtro.
Funeral services have been held.
