Drivers who see dancing fruits and vegetables on the side of the road Monday afternoon don’t have to pinch themselves.
It’s no dream. There will be actual fruits and vegetables, at least people dressed like them to promote healthful eating.
The San Benito County Public Health Department is celebrating Public Health Week with an array of activities. They will kick off the week with a showing of people dressed up as fruits and vegetables on the side of the road at Fourth and San Benito streets. The gathering will start at 3:45 p.m. and last for about 15 minutes.
The public health department announced that activity and others. The following is the full announcement:
Right now, the U.S. spends more and gets less when it comes to health care and public health outcomes than many other countries. This is the defining challenge of our generation – a challenge that we, the public health community, are uniquely positioned to help overcome.
That’s why, during National Public Health Week 2015, the San Benito County public health community is rallying around a goal of making the U.S. the healthiest nation in one generation — by 2030. During this week Public Health will create a new groundswell of support for the changes that must be made within our health system to realize this goal.
Join us for National Public Health Week 2015 and be a part of the effort to make the U.S. the healthiest nation in one generation—by 2030! During the week, Public Health will be hosting numerous events throughout the community and we invite you to attend.
