David Manuel Pacheco Jr., died Monday, Dec. 15 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He was 36.
He was born in San Leandro, Calif., and came to San Benito County in 1971.
He was a loving, caring and giving person who gave a lot of his time working with the San Benito County AIDS Project.
He is survived by his parents David and Jean Pacheco of Hollister; sisters Chris Valdez of Los Banos and Barbara Azevedo of San Leandro; brother Edward Pacheco of Ventura; life partner Michael Fiedler of Hollister; nephew Jayson Orabuena of Los Banos; nieces Brenda Pacheco-Valdez of Los Banos, Dawn Valdez of Hollister, Julie Valdez of Hollister and Jennifer Azevedo of Newark; and brothers-in-law Don Valdez of Los Banos and Leo Azevedo of San Leandro. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
As per his request, arrangements have been made for private cremation at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Crematory.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of the resurrection and a celebration of life Friday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. at St. Benedicts Catholic Church on Fairview Road in Hollister.
Interment will follow at St. Benedicts Columbarium.
Donations may be sent to the David M. Pacheco Jr., Memorial Fund in care of San Benito Bank, which will be used for David’s favorite charity.
