David R. Pippin died March 29 in Gilroy. He was born in Ridgely,
Maryland and was 78 years old.

He had lived in Hollister for nearly 40 years and moved just recently to Gilroy in 2003. He graduated from Washington College in Maryland with a Bachelor’s degree in science. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hollister, San Benito Masonic Lodge #211 where he was a past master and a member since 1977. He served his country honorably during WWII in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Pippin, of Gilroy; his children, Linda Zakia of Key West, Fla., Gary Hansen of Saratoga and Denise Conatti of Gilroy; his sister, Evengelina Kovsu of Greensboro, Md. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eileen Pippin, who died in 1992. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was especially close to his granddaugther, Samantha Fowler of Hollister.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 2 at 4pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home in Hollister.

The San Benito Masonic Lodge #211 will perform the Masonic Ritual. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery.

Donations are preferred to a charity of choice in memory of Mr. Pippin.
