State Sen. Jeff Denham wants to save the taxpayers $15 million
by removing the Coastal Commission.
Dear Editor:

State Sen. Jeff Denham wants to save the taxpayers $15 million by removing the Coastal Commission.

I am wondering why he isn’t complaining about the $40 million taxpayer tab for recalling Gov. Gray Davis?

That is nearly three times what we pay for the Coastal Commission to look out for our interests.

Shut down the Coastal Commission and you open up off-shore oil drilling and development of scenic and recreational areas. No thank you, Jeff.

A better idea would be to recall the whole California legislature for non-performance of duties, specifically for taking a walk and not voting on consumer issue bills so they do not pass, and for failing to compromise on a budget by the July 1 deadline.
