The Hollister location is shown days before opening.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Hollister has reopened with new ownership and is hosting promotional events to celebrate the change.
Dickey’s closed in July about a year after opening, with the former owners attributing the closure to drought conditions and commodity costs. Business partners and childhood friends Bryan and Kevin Roche, prior KFC franchisees before opening Dickey’s locations in Southern California, purchased the local franchise.
The two have plans to open more than 100 Dickey’s locations in California over a 10-year period, according to an announcement from the owners.
The three-day promotional event started Thursday with gift-card giveaways. Friday, there are merchandise giveaways. Saturday, there will be $2 pulled pork sandwiches from noon to 2 p.m. with one lucky winner getting a $500 gift card and three others receiving free barbecue for a year.
Dickey’s is located at 551 McCray St.. For more information, call (831) 636-7427.
