Dolores “Dee” Gonzales, born on June 10, 1961, a Hollister native, died on June 5, 2005 in Santa Clara as the victim of a homicide.

She was greeted at the Gates of Heaven by grandparents, Laura and Manuel Gonzales, Gertrude Flores, Joseph Montelongo and her sister, Roberta Jean Gonzales.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Christie Michelle Gonzales, 25 and her son, Daniel Maurice Manuel Gonzales, 2; she is also survived by her parents, Manuel and Mary Gonzales of Hollister, her siblings, Anna M. Gonzales of Sunnyvale, Carol A. Gonzales, Beatrice L. Gonzales-Ramirez, John J. Gonzales and Veronica Rodriguez of Hollister, Manuel E. Gonzales III of Gilroy, Lisa J. Castro and Robert Castro of Fruita,CO, Robert J. Gonzales and Stacey L. Gonzales of Oakdale and Mary Jo Gonzales of Dickenson, ND. She is also survived by her 17 nieces and nephews and by her grand niece.

Dolores was a devoted mother and much loved sister. She was a spirited and vivacious woman with a personality that could warm your heart. A long time resident of San Benito County, she was dedicated to her job of over 20 years at Mission College in Santa Clara, and very active in her SEIU Union.

Dolores was always there when you needed someone and often said that she was proud of her children. She has been called home to be seated by God’s side and Dee’s beautiful soul will be missed forever.

A celebration of her life will be held at Mission San Juan Bautista, 600 Second Street, San Juan Bautista, on what would have been Dee’s 44th birthday, on June 10, 2005 at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow at the VFW Hall, located at 58 Monterey Street in San Juan Bautista.

The family requests that donations be made through any San Benito Bank, First National Bank or South Valley Bank location under the name of The Dolores Gonzales Memorial Fund, Account #62208590 (831-638-3350) which will be placed in a trust for her beloved 2 year old son, Daniel.

Arrangements and cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory, Hollister.
