Dolores Baroni passed away on January 21st, 2010, with her children by her side. A Gilroy native, Dolores was born on October 31st, 1929 to Charles and Echo Weddell, who she shared her birthday with. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Darroll Weddell, and her beloved husband of 50 years, Mario Baroni.
Dolores was a graduate of Gilroy High School, and later the teaching program at San Jose State University. She taught first grade for 25 years at Rucker School in rural Gilroy, the same school her father attended as a child.
Dolores enjoyed making many needlepoint pictures and pillows, reading to her grandchildren, and spending time in the coastal city of Capitola. She is survived by her daughter Susan Baroni of Westlake Village, CA, her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Tania Baroni and granddaughters Anastasia and Dasha Baroni of Belmont, CA. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Larry and Carole Weddell of Paradise, CA, her sister-in-law Jeanette Weddell of Orland, CA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
