Passed away into the loving arms of God peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family and friends on Nov. 22, 2009. He put up a strong courageous battle with lymphoma. Don was the beloved husband of Vera Arlene, who was the love of his life. Beloved father of Michael (Lori) O’Dell and Laurie (Ben) Frechette. Loving Papa Don of Tonya O’Dell and Jennifer Frechette and great-grandfather of Sean and Shayla O’Dell, Julissa Leggett and Madison Orozco. He is survived by two brothers, Homer and Kenneth O’Dell.
He was in the U. S. Army and served during the Korean War as a sergeant. He was the owner of O’Dell Pool Finishing for 40 years. He was a past President and Treasure of the American Quarter Horse Breeders of Santa Clara Valley for many years.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th St., Gilroy, CA followed by burial at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy. Donations to the American Cancer Society would be preferred.
