Dr. Robert D. Quinn of Del Rey Oaks, CA and Sun City West, AZ passed away March 4, 2011 in Sun City West, AZ at age 84 due to heart failure. He was born and raised in Idaho.

At age 18 as a foot soldier was assigned to Patton’s 3rd Army in Germany for the rest of W.W.II. Returning to civilian life he graduated from Stanford and Cornell Medical school, Interned at US Army Hospital in San Francisco and then on to Hollister,CA to private practice for 42 years. During his practice Bob was active in community affairs and interested in humanitarian efforts around the world.

Young people were of great importance to him and he was mentor to many. After retiring Bob spent much time in the motor home, at his winter home in AZ.,square dancing and playing bridge, while keeping an eye on world affairs and the family and extended family he loved. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Laura Phillips-Quinn and his children; Judy (Tom) Cardwell, Craig Quinn, Gale Quinn Jorgensen, Brian (Mary) Quinn, his sisters Mary Crowther, Susan (Harold) Sermon, his brothers Mike (Robin) Quinn, Joe(Wa) Quinn,step-children, Susan (Mike) Trope, Mark Phillips, Betsy (David) Bare, Scott Phillips,15 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. His extended family also includes more than a dozen exchange students from many parts of the world.

A Celebration of Life will be held at San Juan Oaks Golf Club, 3825 Union Rd. Hollister, CA, April 3, at 2:00 P.M
