E. Paul Schoutens passed away in Hayden, ID on August 19, 2009 following a brief illness. Paul was born in Santa Monica, CA on October 30, 1944. He moved with his family to Gilroy, CA in 1950. His father opened the Foster’s Freeze in Gilroy, CA, in June of 1950. Paul took over the family business in 1972 and along with his family, ran it until November of 1999. The family moved to Idaho in 2000 and for the past 5 years, Paul owned and operated Alpha Woodworks in Hayden, ID.
Paul is survived his loving family including his three children: Joanne Walker and husband Greg, Eric Schoutens and wife Tricia, Mark Schoutens and wife Jennifer, 12 grandchildren and his sister Andree Schoutens.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Maris; daughters Ann and Diane and his parents Louis and Simonne Schoutens.

Memorial mass will be 1:00 P.M. Monday August 24, 2009, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Yates Funeral Homes has been entrusted with the care of final arrangements.
