Earl Dan Hames was born on January 17, 1938 in Lavaca, Arkansas, and welcomed into his heavenly home on March 27, 2009.

Earl was the son of Edna Hames and the late Ira Hames. The family located to Campbell, CA in 1942. Earl graduated from Campbell High School in 1955, subsequently earned a Bachelor’s Degree from San Jose State University and an MBA from Golden State University. He began a career in financial services working at Kaiser/Permanente, IBM, Hitachi and St. Jude Medical. Earl served his country in the National Guard.

He was married to Fay Fennel for 49 1/2 years. The couple had four children, Elizabeth Nunes (Mike), Michael (Mindy), Chris (Christine), and Tim (Chrissy) Hames, and 11 grandchildren. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother who delighted in each role.

A long-time resident of San Martin, CA , he served as elder at several Church of Christ congregations, with the most recent service at Hollister Church of Christ. He was dedicated to both his family and his church family. Earl loved God, his family, and friends. He will be missed by everyone his life touched.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 2, at 11:00 A.M., viewing beginning at 10:00 A.M., at the Central Church of Christ, 1170 Foxworthy Ave., San Jose, CA 95118.

Flowers can be sent to the Central Church of Christ. If preferred, donations may be made in Earl’s memory to the American Heart Association at 1710 Gilbreth Rd., Burlingame, CA 94010-1795.

Burial Service will be Saturday, April 4, at 11:00 A.M. at Hills Ferry Cemetery, 1334 W. Stuhr Rd., Newman, CA
