Edgar C. Scornaienchi passed away at the age of 89 Monday morning at Mabie Southside Skilled Nursing facility in Hollister. He was born in Piane Crati, Italy, province of Calabria. During World War II, Ed served as a mechanic in the Army Air Corp. He was a beer distributor in Salinas prior to moving to Santa Rosa and Cameron Park, where he was a Real Estate Broker for 22 years. Ed along with his wife, Lillian, moved to Hollister in the early 1980s. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tres Pinos, Italian Catholic Federation, Hollister Elk’s Lodge # 1436 and SIRS, of Hollister. Ed was predeceased by his late wife, Lillian L. Scornaienchi, who died in March of 2005, his daughter Kimberly, grandson, Aaron and his brother, Ernest. He is the father of Toni Cantrell, husband, Frank of Salinas, Diane Balesteri, husband, Manuel, of Monterey and Peter Scornaienchi, wife, Mary, of Portland, Oregon, grandfather of Stacy Carnazzo, husband, Jeff, of Salinas, Dr. Steven Cantrell, wife, Michelle, of Visalia and Jennifer Balesteri of Salinas, brother of August Scornaienchi of Pacific Grove. Also survived by four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of the Resurrection on Monday, December 17, 2007 at 10: 30 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Church, 7290 Airline Highway, Tres Pinos. Inurnment and graveside services will follow at the St. Benedict Church Columbarium, 1200 Fairview Rd., Hollister.
