Edward (Eddy) Rodrigues passed away on December 31st, 2009, in his home. He is survived by his sister Santina (Tina) Baffa, brothers Lewis (Louie) Rodericks, Michael DiCiano, Robert DiCiano, many nephews and nieces and his Godson Edward Brian DiCiano. Eddy was born to John and Adeline Rodrigues in Oakland, CA. Adeline divorced and was later married to Emilio DiCiano. Eddy did many things in his lifetime from making shoes in LA, serving in the U S Army in Japan during World War II and the Korean War where he was honorably discharged in 1951 after he had been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and was told he would only live 6 more months. Eddy also was a cowboy in the foothills of the Central Valley, drove truck cross country and finally, as most friends and family remember him, as a bartender operating the Veterans Bar downtown Gilroy, CA from 1978 to 2006. Eddy was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6309 in Gilroy, CA. Eddy will be missed by all and will be laid to rest in the National Veterans Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA (Near Los Banos and Gustine). The date is yet determined as plans are still in the works with the Veterans Administration.
