Elisio “Eli” Rochelle died Wednesday morning, March 10, 2004 at Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility after a lengthy illness. He was 86.
Eli was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and came in San Benito County in 1929.
He attended San Benito Junior College many years ago, and was an avid gardener. He worked for many years for Ideal Cement Company in San Juan Bautista until it closed down.
He is survived by his wife Mary Rochelle of Hollister; daughter Mary Ann Rochelle-Corpuz and husband Rudy of San Jose; daughter Gloria Grimsley and husband David of Hollister; son David Rochelle of Hollister; brother Arthur Rochelle of Hollister; grandchildren Nicole Jurado of San Jose, Michael Corpuz of Salida, Calif., Stephen Grimsley of Hollister and Jennifer Nagle of San Francisco. He is also survived by many additional brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held with arrangements for cremation under the direction of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory in Hollister. Contributions are preferred to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
