running through Oct. 11.

Emmy Award winning actress Barbara Babcock, is staring in the Pacific Repertoy Theatre’s new production of the classic comedy, “Hay Fever,” running through Oct. 11.

The performances of the Noel Coward classic will be performed at the Golden Bough Theatre in Carmel.

Babcock, who won an emmy for her portrayal of the character Grace Gardner in the popular 80s television series “Hill Street Blues.”

Babcock also recieved an emmy nomination for her performance on the series “Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.”

The highly respected actress has made guest appearances on many television shows including everything from “Frazier” to the original “Star Trek.”

She has also appeared in more than 30 feature films.

In “Hay Fever” Babcock plays the character Judith Bliss, a retired stage actress who is the matriarch of a family of six, who at first seem to live a normal, comfortable life until the audience gets to take a closer look.

Things quickly go from bd to worse as a member of the family has invited a guest (a member of the opposite sex) to stay for the weekend, but no one seems to have considered what they will all eat or where they will all sleep.

“Hay Fever” is directed by Sid Cato, a native of the Monterey Peninsula, where he has directed productions of “The Italian Girl in Algiers,” “Carmen,” and “Madama Butterfly.” He has directed, worked on, or appeared in more than 300 productions.
