Ervin James “Bud” Grimsley died on Dec. 5 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital.

He was born in McCallsburg, Iowa and was 88 years old.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eldene Grimsley and enjoyed over sixty years of dedicated employment in Hollister working for the Hollister School District, Tiffany Motor Company and the County of San Benito. After his retirement his passion for trucks and automobiles was his enjoyment. He drove truck and delivered construction materials for San Benito Rockery. He was a longtime member of Mound Lodge #166 IOOF and San Benito Co. Employees Association.

He is survived by his four sons and their spouses, James and Jean Grimsley of Lititz, Pa., Roger and Toni Grimsley of Hollister, Marvin and Maria Grimsley of Hollister and David and Gloria Grimsley of Hollister. He is the grandfather of Ted and Larry Grimsley of Baltimore, Md., Aaron, Mark, Mashell and Steve Grimsley of Hollister, Laura Grimsley Molter of Clovis and Jennifer Grimsley Nagle of Burlingame. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and his sister, Marjorie Teigen of Des Moines, Iowa.

Friends can pay their respects on Thursday, Dec. 9, from noon until 8pm at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.

The family will have a private graveside service and committal at the IOOF Cemetery on Friday where Bud will be interred next to his wife, Eldene.

Donations are preferred to Sacred Heart School c/o Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 363 7th St. Hollister, CA 95023.
