Esther E. Price passed away March 11, 2004 at Hazel Hawkins Northside Convalescent Hospital. She was 94.

A native of Davenport, Calif., she moved from Santa Cruz to Hollister in 1926 when her father M.S. Price opened the Hollister Machine Works on East Street. Later, her brother Frank M. Price joined his father and continued the operation of the business until 1976.

A graduate of San Benito High School, San Benito Junior College and the University of California-Berkeley, she taught in the Hollister and Salinas high schools and the San Juan High School District in Sacramento.

Miss Price was a member of the California Retired Teachers’ Association, Capital Division; the National Retired Teachers’ Association and a life member of the American Association of University Women, Sacramento Branch.

She is survived by a niece, a nephew and several grandnephews and cousins. Her brother Frank Price preceded her in death in 1986.

Private services are being held through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home with interment at the IOOF Cemetery.

Donations are preferred to a charity of choice in memory of Ms. Price.
