Eva Brandt passed away at home in Morgan Hill on January 18, 2011, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Chief Master Sergeant Edward M. Brandt for 55 years.

Eva is also survived by four children and their spouses; Leroy and Ernestine Brandt of Dallas, TX, Nadine and Wayne Shrewsbury of Morgan Hill, CA, VadaRea Safranic of Morgan Hill, CA and Gerald Brandt of Southern California. She is the grandmother of Edward Shrewsbury and Patricia Lopez, Michael and Sara Brandt, Teresa and Tom Magas, Lisa Stock Rogers, Frank and Shelley Brandt , Henry Brandt, April Brandt Hutchinson, Alice and Hoang Nguyen, Mary Ann Brandt, Amy Brandt, John Paul Brandt and Jerret Brandt. Eva is the sister of Clarence and Adrienne Pacheco of Santa Cruz, CA and the late Edward and Albert Pacheco.

She is survived by 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins from Hawaii, California and throughout the United States.

A native of Hawaii. Age 90 years.

She worked at Schofield as a Telephone Supervisor for the Military for many years.

Eva along with her husband moved to Morgan Hill, California in 1985. She was an avid reader of books and newspapers. She enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, playing scrabble games, gatherings and parties with her family and friends. She was always ready to travel. She was always very active at her local Catholic churches, starting with the Altar Society in Hawaii. She continued volunteering wherever she lived. She volunteered at St. Catherine’s Parish with the Reach Out Ministry Program and the St. Vincent de Paul. She also helped for many years cleaning the altar linens and keeping the candlestick holders wax free and spotless.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 25, 2011, beginning at 2:00 P.M. with a Vigil at 7:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 Fourth Street, Gilroy, CA. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, 17400 Peak Avenue, Morgan Hill, CA followed by burial at San Joaquin National Cemetery, 32053 McCabe Road, Gustine, CA.
