Sindy Trevino hasn’t heard from her 17-year-old son – who left Hollister over the summer to live with his father in Oklahoma – for more than two weeks.
Trevino is worried something has happened to Josiah Lopez, who the Broken Arrow Police Department has told her is considered a runaway, she said. Lopez moved to Broken Arrow, Okla., to be with his father, Efren Lopez Sr., after his junior year at San Benito High School, Trevino said.
A police officer took a report for Lopez’s disappearance Oct. 26, Trevino said, and she last spoke with her son the night before.
“We’ve had it on, hoping and praying he’d call my cell phone again,” Trevino said.
But Trevino believes he is more than a runaway – she believes he is missing, and so do his friends and other family members here in Hollister.
“He would never go this long without calling us,” said Buddy Barraza, 17, who played football and wrestled with Lopez. “It’s not Josiah.”
Trevino said her son wants to be a veterinarian and loves his siblings.
He turned 17 on Nov. 5.
Anyone with information about Lopez’s whereabouts should call the Broken Arrow Police Department at (918) 259-8400.
