A memorial service will be held on September 24th, 2010, for Fermin M. Graves who passed away on September 4th, 2010, of natural causes. Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Orcutt Presbyterian Church, 993 Patterson Road, Santa Maria.
He is survived by his wife Teresa of 54 years, three children Kelly Blair (Ross), Steven (Terie) and David (Rosa) Graves, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and his brother Robert Graves, nieces, nephews.
Fermin was born on December 6th, 1928, to Frank and Carmel Graves at a small mining community in New Idria, CA. He was one of six children and is preceded in death by his brother David and his sisters Loretta, Edna, and Laurel.
Fermin was raised in several foster homes after the death of both of his parents. He graduated from San Benito High school in 1947 after which he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1947 to 1950. He was called back to duty in November 1950 through December 1952 to serve in the Korean War.
Fermin was deeply involved in his community and will be truly missed by all.
