Louis Marshall and Saniya Lakka, of Gilroy, perform in “Footloose.”

Mount Madonna School students recently performed in “Footloose.” Every student is involved in the performing arts productions, including all 66 ninth through 12th graders. Though there are auditions for the lead roles, everyone is part of the show.
The performances were held Jan. 23-25 at the MMS gym, known as the Hawks’ Nest, and sold out both Saturday and Sunday. The Hawks’ Nest was transformed into a theater with chair and bleacher seating, lighting, stage and set.
Aside from this recent production, another school show is performed every June and features all of MMS’s students. Approximately 200 students, preschool through 12th grade, will perform in “Ramayana!” at the Mexican Heritage Theater in San Jose.
Mount Madonna School is located at 491 Summit Road, Mount Madonna. For more information, call (408) 847-2717 or visit mountmadonnaschool.org.
