Carmen Buenrostro’s fifth-place finish led the Hartnell College
women’s cross country team to the NorCal Community College
championship.
The Hartnell College women’s cross country team claimed first place in the NorCal Community College Championships last week at Sierra College in Rocklin. The Panthers totaled 74 points.

Former Anzar High star Carmen Buenrostro was fifth at 20:26. Three former Hollister High runners also contributed – Eileen Bocanegra (23rd, 2:19), Heidi Zavala (25th, 21:31) and Eveleyn Bocanegra (35th, 22:15).

The Hartnell men placed fifth at the meet led by former Haybaler and Monterey Bay League champion Patrick Hernandez, who was fifth at 21:44. Ex-Baler Hector Figueroa was 45th in a time of 23:14.
