Linda Row, former SBHS English and language arts teacher, has been selected by the Board of Trustees of the San Benito High School District to serve as an Assistant Principal beginning this school year. She will replace Santiago Eachore, who served the San Benito High School district for 30 years.

A teacher at the high school since 2001, Row has also served as Yearbook advisor and English Language Arts Division Chair. Principal Debbie Padilla approves of the selection, adding, “Ms. Row has stepped forward as a leader … she is a true professional and a great asset to our staff.”

Row began her administrative role on Aug. 1, and was introduced as Assistant Principal to the High School staff at a meeting on Aug. 14.

“Student Services will be in good hands with Ms. Row’s expertise in curriculum, assessment and teaching strategies,” said Cindy Cordova, Director of Educational Services of Row’s selection. “She brings strength to the administrative team in these areas, along with her compassion and sincere interest in young adults.”

Row completed her undergraduate work at the University of San Francisco, and has since earned a Masters of Art in Educational Leadership and a Preliminary Administrative Services credential at San Jose State University. She has two children of her own, Liam, age 7, and Dylan, age 3. Her husband works in graphic design and print production.

“We are fortunate to have found someone of Linda’s capability and extensive background in educational leadership, teaching and extracurricular experience to share the responsibility of guiding 2,800 students on our high school site,” said out-going District Superintendent Dr. Jean Burns Slater. “Linda’s familiarity with San Benito High School students and staff sets the scene for effective leadership.”
