Frances Elaine Camacho, a native of Gilroy, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2008. She is survived by her five children, daughters, Jean Dix (Pleasanton) and Luann Smith (Brentwood); sons, Steve Camacho (Salinas), Fran Camacho (Gilroy), and Don Camacho (Pensacola, FL); 15 grandchildren, 33 great- grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Frances was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Janine Annette Ferguson and Joseph Leal Camacho.
Frances was born May 5, 1913 in Gilroy, CA and lived and worked there for most of her life. Starting with her first grandson, she became known by the family as “Gaga.” Frances worked for 35 years at Gentry Foods and retired as a floorlady in 1978. She loved gardening, being with her family, and attending church as a devout Catholic.
Frances will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family very much.
A memorial service will be held on May 22, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary’s Chapel in Gilroy, CA.
