Frank A. Barbosa died in Gilroy on April 22nd. He was born in
Los Angeles and was 79 years old. He worked many years as a tow
truck driver and served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and
was awarded the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He attended St.
Mary’s Church in Gilroy where he has lived for over 50 years, The
VFW and American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Ramona who died in 1991 and his twin brother, Ray, died in November
of 2004.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Mary Helen Barbosa of Gilroy, Frank Martin Barbosa Jr of Gilroy, Marshall Barbosa of Gilroy, Phyllis and Tito Hernandez of Gilroy, Daniel Barbosa of Gilroy and Corrine and Ignacio Arias of Hollister, his brothers and sister, John Barbosa of Santa Maria, Phillip Barbosa of Bakersfield and Linda Barbosa of Reno, NV.
He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Friends can pay their respects on Tuesday, April 26th from 12:00 noon until 9:00 PM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home in Hollister.
A Rosary and vigil service will be at 7:00 PM
A Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 27th at 10:00 AM at Old Mission San Juan Bautista in San Juan Bautista. Friends can gather at the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a procession to the church.
Interment and graveside services will follow the Mass at San Juan District Cemetery with military rites being performed by the VFW from San Juan and Hollister.
