Frank Albert Romero entered into rest on September 16, 2009, with family at his side, after losing a courageous battle to cancer. He was 80 years old. He was a long-time resident of Morgan Hill and a graduate of Live Oak High School. Frank was a talented baseball player. He pitched for the Stockton Ports in the California Baseball League in the 1950’s. He is the beloved husband to Marie (Turturici) Romero of 54 years, loving father of Patricia Trier, Cathy Romero, Debbie and son-in-law Jim Persons and Linda Romero; proud and loving Papa to Frankie, Jimmy and Joey. He is also survived by his brother, Ed Romero and his wife Trish of OR; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ben and Helen Turturici of Hollister, and many nieces and nephews. He established Frank’s Plumbing Company in Morgan Hill and was a prominent plumbing contractor for 40 years before retiring to Hollister, where he enjoyed golfing, hunting, woodworking and ranching. He was a member of the Morgan Hill Lion’s Club, Hollister Elk’s and the SIRS Br #54 of San Jose. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with a vigil service to commence at 7:00 P.M., both at Johnson Funeral Home, 17720 Monterey Street in Morgan Hill. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine Parish, 17400 Peak Avenue in Morgan Hill. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, Santa Clara, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
