home.
Frank J. Ferrel died May 6 in Hollister at his daughter’s home.

He was born and raised in Jackson, Calif. and lived most of his life in the South Bay, San Jose area. He had lived in San Diego for 25 years and moved to Hollister recently to be with his daughter and her family.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1957 and worked for many years in maintenance for the U.S. Marine Corp.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Cynthia and Gary Brady of Success, Ariz.; Suzanne and Billy Risner of Hollister; Frank Ferrel Jr. of Livermore; Russel Ferrel of Sunnyvale; Ruben and Jennifer Ortega of Modesto; his mother, Frances Montoya, of San Jose; his brothers and sisters, Daniel Ferrel of Santa Nella; Ray Ferrel of Dayton, Ohio; Samuel Ferrel of Dayton, Ohio; Carl Ferrel of San Jose; Annie Perez of San Jose; Michael Montoya of Tracy; Tony Montoya of Modesto; Victoria Johnson of San Jose; his grandchildren Gary Brady, Holly Brady, Nathan Brady, Brian Brady, Elyssa Ortega, Liliana Ortega, Amber Risner, Billy Shane Risner and Cody Risner.

He is also survived by his very close friends, Dave Allen and Sonny Cummings, of San Diego.

Memorial services will be held Friday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Arrangements and cremation are through Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home and Gavilan Hills Crematory.
