Frank J. Lucchelli passed away Sunday afternoon at the age of 88 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital. Born in Watsonville, he had lived in San Juan Bautista all his life. Frank was a former Chief of Police of San Juan Bautista for 30 years and then became Welfare fraud investigator for the San Benito County District Attorney’s office . In the 1950s and 1960s Frank had been mayor of San Juan Bautista, Fire Chief and Scout master for the Boy Scouts.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Lucchelli who died in 2007, brothers Robert and Peter and sister Carrie. He is survived by his sons John Lucchelli, wife, Tilli, of Fresno and Frank F. Lucchelli , wife, Georgina , of Pacifica, grandchildren Michael and Jennifer Fassett and great-grandson, Miles Fassett Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 4th, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home with inurnment at San Juan District Cemetery. Contributions are preferred to Mabie Skilled Nursing Facility.
