March 24, 1919 – August 19, 2010
Fred Joel Hawkins, Jr. (94) departed this earth August 13, 2009, and a short year later returned for his loving bride of 66 years. Johnie Lucille Hogan Hawkins (91) left with her husband on August 19, 2010.
Survived by their two sons, Fred, III (Sandee, who had preceded them in death) and Ed (Wilma) Hawkins both of Hollister. Grandchildren, Tiffany Angulo (Albert), Suzanne Hagen and Stephen Hawkins (Melissa) also of Hollister. Great grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda Hawkins, Nicholas Angulo, George Hagen III, West Jordan, UT, Marisa Angulo, Stephen Hawkins, Jr and one other due this spring.
The Hawkins family was among the first families to settle and farm in Hollister. They raised apricots and prunes. Fred and Johnie loved farming, hunting, fishing and traveling. Family was most important to them and will be missed very much.
Graveside services will be held in Fred and Johnie’s honor on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at the IOOF Cemetery. Pastor John Amelio of Glad Tiding Church will officiate. Friends are invited to attend the services.
