At rest in the arms of our Savior, we both rejoice and mourn the passing of a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend in Fred Witzel.

Fred married the love of his life 49 years ago and anyone who saw them together could see the love he had for his wife Lorraine.

His face would light up whenever he spoke about daughters Pam and Debbie. They were truly the apples of Daddy’s eye.

He loved and enjoyed his son-in-laws Tim and Jeff and thought of them as his own sons.

Fred loved being Papa to his four grandchildren, Caleb, Bryce, Jacob and Jesse and beamed with pride whenever his grandsons were near.

Fred was the fifth child of eight born to Albert and Alma Witzel. He is survived by his six brothers, Earl, Everet, Eugene, Duayne, Harry, Allen and his sister Alberta, along with their spouses and many nieces and nephews. He loved them all.

Fred was a friend to all, willing and able to give of his time and expertise whenever and where ever he was needed.

Whether you were part of his family or a casual acquaintance, an employee or caretaker, Fred made all who met him feel special as he touched everyone with his kind and gentle ways.

His big voice and infectious laugh will truly be missed.

A Memorial Service to celebrate this wonderful man will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2012, at 11:00 A.M., at the Hollister Seventh Day Adventist Church 2121 Sunnyslope Road, Hollister, CA.
