Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. He was 83.

Frederick Cermeno died Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Gilroy Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center after a short illness. He was 83.

Mr. Cermeno was a native of Calexico, Mexico. He lived in Morgan Hill and Gilroy for the past 40 years. He was an Army veteran from WW II and fought in Africa and Europe with General Patton.

Mr. Cermeno was a sweet and loving husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed watching the Raiders, Oakland A’s and boxing.

He is the husband of Frances T. Cermeno of Morgan Hill. Mr. Cermeno is also survived by his sons Richard F. Cermeno and his wife Sylvia of San Martin, James A. Cermeno of Gilroy, Ronald A. Cermeno and his wife Julie of Hollister; his grandchildren, Desiree, Selena, Sally Ann, James Jr, Joseph, Jasmine, Justin, Ronald Jr, Mercedes, Theresa and Wendy. He is also nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Marie Burnett, his brother and three sisters.

Services have been held under the direction of Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy.
