Hello. My name is Heatherly Chenet, I’m 19 years old, and I’m a
student at Gavilan College. This is my second semester at Gavilan,
and last semester I wanted to make a change. I felt that there
wasn’t enough school spirit or pride at the Gavilan College
football and basketball games (as well as around campus), so I
decided to start up a cheerleading squad.
Hello. My name is Heatherly Chenet, I’m 19 years old, and I’m a student at Gavilan College. This is my second semester at Gavilan, and last semester I wanted to make a change. I felt that there wasn’t enough school spirit or pride at the Gavilan College football and basketball games (as well as around campus), so I decided to start up a cheerleading squad.
It’s true, over the past few years many Gavilan students have tried to start a cheerleading squad at Gavilan, not knowing that it would take a lot of hard work and dedication. I was dedicated, and I really wanted to bring spirit and pride to Gavilan, so I went through the long and hard process of getting cheerleading approved. I finally got it approved and became captain of the squad. We currently have four members.
I am now looking for cheerleaders for the fall semester 2004, and I’m holding tryouts. The tryouts will be at Gavilan College, the main campus in Gilroy, in room Art Lecture 101 (AL 101) on March 22, 23, 29 and 30, from 5-7 p.m. I know it’s late notice, but I’m hoping that you’ll help me get the word out to any current Gavilan students and the incoming freshman, that Gavilan College does have a cheerleading squad!
Everyone is welcome to tryout – girls, boys, men, women, experienced, inexperienced, shy and outgoing, EVERYONE…The only thing required is a positive attitude! Please help me make Gavilan College Cheerleading a success that will last for years to come! For anyone wanting more information, my email is:
