It’s almost class time at Gavilan College and this year’s fall courses include instruction with film writers, actors and a former reporter, according to a statement from the college. The first day of school will be Monday, Aug. 25. The last day for late registration is Sept. 5. Here are highlights for the new year provided by Gavilan:
− Journalism classes are returning to the college after a one-year hiatus. Former Hollister Free Lance reporter Kyle Hull will be teaching two media classes.
− Local filmmaker Grant Richards will be teaching Motion Picture Production.
– Actor Ruben Gonzalez will be teaching acting and voice for TV/Film/Media.
-Arpita Kumar, who wrote and directed a short narrative film that won the PBS People’s Choice Award in 2014, will be teaching television classes.
