Gayanell Sturla died Jan. 1 in Redwood City.
Gay was born in Jericho Springs, Missouri and later moved to Gilroy where she graduated from Gilroy High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband James; survived by her daughter Lori Bihler and her husband Wayne of San Jose; sons Brian Sturla and his wife Diane of Gilroy; and Jay Sturla and his fiance Julie Van Vactor of Gilroy; grandchildren Danielle and Kristi; sister Gladys Cameron of Lancaster and brother Wayne Potter of Nebraska.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy. Private burial to take place at Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno.
