Gayle M. Glines, 57, of Gilroy, died suddenly Sunday, April 17, 2011, at Saint Louise Hospital, Gilroy.

Gayle worked for the Gilroy city recreation department for many years overseeing a wide variety of programs. She was a longtime volunteer for the Garlic Festival and for sporting events at Gilroy High and Gavilan College. She especially loved baseball.

She is survived by her husband, Walter Glines; son, Benjamin Glines, daughter-in-law Stephanie; granddaughter Adyson, and soon to be grandson Gavin, all of San Jose; sister, Aileen Toki Matsuura of Santa Clara; and brother Ben Matsuura, sister-in-law Vicki, nieces Stacy and Shari, all of Fresno. She was the daughter of the late Ben and Nancy Matsuura of Santa Clara.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Gavilan College student union. A reception follows in the student union.
