Northside Convalescent Hospital in Hollister. He was 89 years
old.
Gene F. Franscioni died on Wednesday July 7, 2004 at the Mabie Northside Convalescent Hospital in Hollister. He was 89 years old.

Born March 13, 1915 in Watsonville, he was the former manager and owner of Medlock Crop Dusters in Davis, Calif. where he lived from 1953 to 1975. He had lived in Hollister for three years.

Mr. Franscioni served in the U.S. Army Aircorps during WWII as a Lt. Col. with the 101st Airborne as a pilot. He participated in the D-Day Invasion of Europe and received a Purple Heart Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his service to the country. He was an avid golfer and hunter.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Carol Franscioni of Hollister; his daughter Robin Meggait of Armstrong, British Columbia; his sister Denise Franklin of Tucson, Ariz; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son Steve Gene Franscioni.

Visitation will be held today from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Struve and Laporte Chapel. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Struve and Laporte Chapel.
