Born, raised and schooled in San Francisco, an only girl among three brothers, Genevieve led an active and athletic girlhood. After graduating from Immaculate Conception Academy and employment in San Francisco she married Gilroy dairyman Peter Blaettler, in 1944 at the Carmel Mission. They lived at the Blaettler Dairy until building a new home farther up Day Road in 1952.
Raising their seven children, Genevieve was active in their schooling at St Mary’s, involved with the parish church and a booster of the Gilroy Gators Swim Club.
Upon the early death of her husband in 1976, Genevieve lived in a variety of fascinating locations until her retirement, at the Forum in Cupertino, in 2005.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed her grandchildren, traveling to numerous parts of the world, managing real estate investments and following the Giants.
She was well read and up with the latest news and fashion.
She was always committed and involved in the parishes she lived in, giving of her time and energy. Friendly and interested in others, Genevieve was a delight to people. She was famous for her quick wit and delighted us all with her funny comments.
She is preceeded in death by her parents, Charles and Jean White, her husband, Peter Blaettler, her brothers, Charles White and Robert White, and her grandson, Sean Blaettler.
