George R. Tracy died Saturday, Sept. 27 at Stanford Medical Center. He was 81.

Tracy was born in Palo Alto, Calif., and had been a Hollister resident for the past 10 years.

He faithfully served his county during WWII in the United States Navy and was a member of Teamsters Union Locals 70 and 85, and The Jehovah’s Witnesses.

He is survived by his sons Michael Tracy of Hollister and Dennis Tracy of Brentwood; brothers Larry Tracy of Daly City and Art Tracy of Sacramento, Dan Tracy of San Francisco and Bill Tracy of Mesa, Ariz.; sister Esther Johnson of Buhl, Ind. He is also survived by his grandchildren Scott Tracy, Angeline Sheets and Ryan Tracy.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Theresa Tracy, brothers David and John and sister Ruth.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Fallon near Fairview Road in Hollister.

Interment and committal will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1 at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.

Donations may be made to Kingdom Hall’s Worldwide Work in care of Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home, 363 Seventh St., Hollister, Calif. 95023.
