Gilroy High girls soccer star Taylor Slattery has been named Monterey Bay League Gabilan Division Most Valuable Player, the league announced.

Slattery, a senior midfielder who signed with Utah, tallied 22 goals and seven assists this season to lead the Mustangs (11-3-6) to the MBL Gabilan title with a 10-0-2 record.

Offensive Player of the Year went to Christopher sophomore forward Paulina Llamas.

Gilroy’s Connie “C.C.” Contreras was named Midfielder of the Year, San Benito’s Marissa Espino took Goalkeeper of the Year, San Benito’s Kristen Callanta was voted Junior MVP and Christopher’s Paulina Sanchez took Sophomore MVP.

Gilroy’s Slattery, Maggie Trigo-Rocha, Contreras, Alexi Slattery and Agust Gomez received first-team all-league honors, and teammates Samantha Gonzalez, Jackie Andrade, Tayler Silacci, Cassidy Lawrence and Morgan Rogers were named to the second team.

Christopher’s Llamas and Sanchez took first-team all-league honors, and teammates Gina Rodriguez and Emma Morley were named to the second team.

San Benito’s Espino, Victoria Perez, Berenice Bribiesca and Callanta were first-team all-league picks, and teammates Brianna Bengivengo, Chace Miguel, Alexandra Osborne and Mary Alameda received second-team honors.

Honorable Mention picks included Gilroy’s Tyler Juarez, San Benito’s Serena Adame, and Christopher’s Cata Martin, Jamie Boutté, Calysta Tyree and Lauren Ginn.

Individual Sportsmanship honorees included: Gilroy’s Katrina Carter, San Benito’s Espino and Christopher’s Vanessa Koontz.

Sportsmanship Team of the Year went to Christopher.
