San Benito's Ryan Han hits out of a green-side bunker on the seventh hole of the final round of the CCS playoffs Tuesday morning at Rancho Canada golf course in Carmel Valley.

Carmel — San Benito High golfer Ryan Han carded a 1-over-par 72 Tuesday in the Central Coast Section finals at Rancho Canada’s West Course.

But the score, which was the same as Han’s first round last week, was not good enough to advance to the California Interscholastic Federation NorCal Championship at Butte Creek Golf Course on Monday. Han missed the cut by one stroke, San Benito head coach Reggie Synegal said.

Han carded four birdies on the day, but was hampered by two double bogeys.

The sophomore started the day shooting well, scoring a par 35 on the back nine. On the front, though, Han started to have trouble controlling his driver.

Han shot into a bunker on the sixth hole and a tree on the second hole.

Despite some issues with his driver on the front nine, his chip shot worked throughout the day.

Han was partnered with Leigh’s Dave Ahmadian, who carded a 67 and finished in third place, and Sam Jackson of Harbor, who fired an 80.

Menlo School’s Andrew Buchanan won the CCS championship shooting a 7-under-par 64.
