Monte Golf Course in Monterey, and lost 169-212.

Up against perhaps its most formidable opponent in the Tri-County Athletic League, the San Benito High girls golf team couldn’t keep pace with host Santa Catalina on Wednesday at the Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey, and lost 169-212.

Catalina’s Cristina Bowery medaled the par-36 front nine with a 39.

As for the Lady Balers, each member of its starting six carded a score in the 50s.

Katie Moeller led the team with a 51, while Nicole Rianda shot a 53 and both Jordan Davies and Emiley Palmquist recorded matching 54s to round out the team’s scoring.

Yumi Kimura shot a 55 for San Benito and Alexis Sanchez compiled a 57.

San Benito’s 212 on Wednesday was the highest recorded score for the Lady Balers this season.

The team will look to rebound on Tuesday when it returns to its home confines at the Ridgemark Golf and Country Club in Hollister. San Benito is scheduled to take on Salinas.

Match time is 3:30 p.m.
