For the seventh time this year, the San Benito golf team finished a close second to Palma — this time, though, it was during a one-on-one meet.

Palma defeated the Balers 205-209 at San Juan Oaks Golf Club on Tuesday to clinch the regular-season Tri-County League title.

Ryan Han tied for the lowest score of the day shooting a 2-over 38. Aaron Smith and Andrew Colton each carded a 40 at San Juan Oaks to pull the Balers closer to Palma.

Regardless, the Balers fell just short of Palma.

“The kids feel like they are right there,” head coach Reggie Synegal said. “We just have to keep compete.”
