Brad Sparrer, an incoming San Benito High junior, won the first flight division division in the Summer Series II Championship at Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore.
Sparrer’s 36-hole total—golfers played 18 holes each on Wednesday and Thursday—of 2-under 142 edged runner-up Raymond Abels of Livermore by a stroke. Sparrer shot 73-69, including an eagle on the par-5 fifth hole.
It was another fine tournament for Sparrer, who has played well in the Capital Insurance Group Junior Tour of Northern California series.
