Mrs. Baker lived in Aromas for more than 40 years. Her Arabian horse ranch, Baker’s Acres, was known throughout the United States and England for breeding and producing national champions. Her knowledge and love of horses, especially her beloved “Aurab,” brought her much recognition and numerous awards throughout the show circuit.

Her husband, major Robert L. Baker, retired U.S. Army, preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by her brother Arthur Lee Hattensty and his wife Laverne of Williamina, Ore.; nephew Jim Lieberman and his wife Judy of Gilroy, and numerous nieces and nephews.

To honor Mrs. Baker’s wishes, no services are planned. Arrangements for cremation have been made through the Neptune Society and interment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose.
