Several local USA Sport Connection gymnasts received medals at
Sunday’s Tidal Wave Classic hosted by Peninsula Gymnastics in San
Mateo.
In the Class 6 Division, Kurtis Pedrazzi (ages 12+) medaled in
five events, bringing home a first place on the floor (8.9), a
second place on the pommel (8.7), a second place on the parallel
bars (9.1), a second place on the horizontal bar (9.6) and a second
place All-Around (53.45).

In the Class 6 Division, Kurtis Pedrazzi (ages 12+) medaled in five events, bringing home a first place on the floor (8.9), a second place on the pommel (8.7), a second place on the parallel bars (9.1), a second place on the horizontal bar (9.6) and a second place All-Around (53.45).

Class 6 gymnast Vanya Avilla (ages 10-11) received honors across the board, placing fifth on the vault (9.2), fifth on the pommel (8.8), sixth on the rings (8.7), eighth on the floor (8.6), eighth on the parallel bars (8.8) and 11th on the horizontal bar (8.6).

Class 6 gymnast Gabriel Hatcher (ages 7-9) was awarded fifth place on his floor exercise (9.0).

In the Class 7 Division, Darren Coates (ages 10+) medaled in three events, bringing home a second place on the parallel bars, a third place on the vault and a third place on the pommel.

Class 7 gymnast Kyle Brown (ages 8-9) placed fifth on the parallel bars, sixth on the rings, sixth on the horizontal bar and eighth on the pommel.

The boys team competes at Demaray’s, and the Level 4 girls team competes at the Almaden Gymfest at San Jose State University on Feb. 21.
