Hawk Erik Olson records double-double, Padres win 51-33
Carmel – Anzar’s Erik Olson scored 14 points and pulled down 11 rebounds Wednesday, but the Carmel Padres were able to score the win as they defeated the Hawks 51-33.

After Olson’s double-digit point total, Ryan Waller scored seven points for Anzar, who fall to 1-3 in the Mission Trail Athletic League, 6-12 overall.

“We played uninspired basketball,” coach Ed Cecena said. “They out-hustled us. They played harder than we did.

“Practice went well. We’ve been practicing hard … We freeze.”

The Hawks were held to single-digit point totals in each quarter, until the fourth stanza when Anzar managed to outscore Carmel 15-5.

The Hawks will look to rebound from their two-game losing streak at home Friday against Soledad. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
