The meet was the last league meet for the Hawks before the league finals Nov. 6 at Toro Park.
“We’ve been putting in some quality workouts, and its been paying off at the end the season,” said Hawk coach Cuco Chavez. “Yesterday (Wednesday) we had a speed workout, and all of them ran awesome together. They went into the race hungary, and they wanted it. They are even more fired up now.”
Chavez expects his team to qualify for the Central Coast Section playoffs if the team can hold its third-place spot behind Carmel and King City.
During the first center meet of the year, the team placed fifth.
“From then to now, I have seen a huge jump for these guys,” Chavez said.
For the boys, Cisco Heath finished 11th with a time of 17:28, Brad Wedekind finished 16th with a time of 18:23, Sam Stewart finished 20th with a time of 19:06, Caleb Ellison placed 22nd with a time of 19:13, Danny Lowell placed 27th with a time of 19:44, Albert Mireles placed 28th with a time of 19:49 and Kevin Parsons was the final Hawk finisher in 30th place with a time of 20:08.
